Kannadipara

A valley of rocky mountains that reflects the rays of the sun like a perfect mirror; this is the special distinction that led to Kannadipara (Rock Mirror) getting its name. The highest point in the Ilaveezhapoonchira Range, it is among the finest attractions in the Kottayam district. Ilaveezhapoonchira on its own encompasses Mankunnu, Kudayathoor Vindhyan, and Thonippara Hills. This elevated location gives one a view of a plethora of districts, including Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur. Nearby lies Kazhukankulimali Waterfalls, where joyful cascades gush down the mountain and greet the river below with a huge splash.

kilometers here, there is a also waterfalls. Kannadipara, as the name suggests is the valley of rocky mountain that reflects the morning sun with a mirror like perfection. Ilaveezhepoonchira, a hill station in Kottayam, comprises the gigantic peaks of Mankunnu, Kudayathoor Vindhyan, and Thonippara hills. Kannadipara, situated in Kudayathoor Vindhyan, also offers panoramic views of Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur districts. 3 km from here is the Pazhakakanam Plateau nourished by the Kadapuzha River. Bamboo groves, meadows and wildflowers make this place exotic. An added attraction here is the Kazhukankulimali Waterfalls that playfully cascade down the mountain and greet the river below with a magnificent splash. On the eastern side of Kannadipara is a natural fort set amidst steep rocks. The highest point in Elaveezhapoonchira Valley, it is known for reflecting the morning sun with mirror-like perfection. There are some very well-known hills like Mankunnu, Kudayathoor Vindhyan, and Thonippara nearby. Kannadipara offers panoramic view of Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur districts. Nourished by the Kadapuzha River, the bamboo groves, meadows and wild flowers give it a feel of the exotic.An added attraction here is the Kazhukankulimali Waterfall that playfully cascades down the mountain to greet the river below.
